I relaxed Friday evening meal after what seemed like a long week in the office, I needed a relaxed chilled meal to unwind and let my mind go into weekend mode. This was the perfect place to let the mind wonder away.
The atmosphere felt warm and welcoming and the decor was vibrant with coloured glass panes through out
The seats were comfortable and there was plenty of space between the tables which is refreshing in a city centre establishment.
STARTER - Mezze Platter for two - £18.95.
This as you can see was filling and healthy with lots of different flavours including hommos, baba ghanuj, tabbouleh, falafel, cheese samboussek and the bread was WARM which was excellent.
I great starter that is bursting with different colours and textures.
My favourite was the warm falafel and cheese samboussek, both delicate and delicious.
MAIN - Roasted Chicken Moussakhan - £10.95
A half roasted baby chicken with walnuts and sumac onion with basmati rice.
In the whole a very good disk, the rice and onions were very tasty, the salad was the right amount and flavour, the chicken however in some parts had been over cooked and had become slightly dry.
DESSERT - Mango & Vanilla Cheesecake - £4.95
This was the best dish of the day. The mango on the top layer was so tasty, the crushed nuts added some extra texture. it melted my my mouth.
Just writing this now makes me want to go and have it again.
REVIEW OF COMTOIR
I would have to summarise and say that I would definitely go again but have a different main. I think the the slow cooked lamb dish I saw across the room looked amazing.
Service gets a 7 from me - the waitress did ask if we were happy but it took a while to get her attention when we wanted to order a second round of drinks.
Food gets a 7 from me, the starter and dessert was super but the main let it down.
Atmosphere get an 8 from me, it was warm, welcoming and had a pleasant feel.
Overall 7.3/10 - I would go again, the food was tasty and filling and the atmosphere I felt was very calming and relaxed for a casual evening meal.
